RELEASE|September 5, 2025
Contact: Steve Frisbie

LANSING, Mich. – State Rep. Steve Frisbie today announced that the City of Springfield has been awarded $125,000 to build a public safety car port for its police and fire vehicles. The funding will provide covered parking for emergency vehicles, helping protect officers and first responders and extending the service life of their vehicles.

“Our police officers and firefighters risk their lives every day,” Frisbie said. “Investing in infrastructure that shelters their equipment helps keep them safe and ensures they can respond quickly when residents need them.”

The grant, secured through the Legislature’s local development and safety initiative, will cover design and construction of the new car port. Work is expected to begin soon and be completed next year.

Residents with questions or who need additional information are encouraged to contact Rep. Frisbie’s office.

The House Budget containing these vital appropriations will now be sent to the Senate for passage. Residents with questions or seeking more information are encouraged to contact Rep. Frisbie’s office.
