LANSING, Mich. — State Rep. Steve Frisbie today announced that $30,000 has been awarded through Michigan’s Local Development and Social Infrastructure (LDSI) initiative to the Bronson Health Foundation to strengthen child abuse prevention education in Calhoun County.

Every child deserves a safe and nurturing environment,” Frisbie said. “By securing LDSI funding, we’re giving the Bronson Health Foundation the tools to expand evidence-based training and outreach with schools, churches, and community groups — so every parent, caregiver, and neighbor knows how to protect kids and stop abuse before it happens.

The LDSI grant will expand programs that teach parents, educators, and community members how to recognize warning signs, report concerns, and respond effectively. The initiative will help ensure children across Calhoun County have the safe support systems they need.

The House Budget containing these vital grants will now be sent to the Senate for passage. Residents with questions or seeking more information are encouraged to contact Rep. Frisbie’s office.
